SSRP: Tarantino book research and new films to discuss.

I have found a book on the director Quentin Tarantino that I think I will be using for one of my items in my catalogue. This book is called Tarantino and was written by Jim Smith and was published by Virgin Film Books in 2005.

I am considering using this because the book discusses several Tarantino films that I will be talking about in my SSRP and I believe that it would be a useful source when researching. For example, the books talks about Pulp Ficiton and Reservoir Dogs which at two of my selected films. However I thinking about discussing From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) due to Tarantinos large acting role in the film. This is because in my SSRP I will be discussing his auetur styles and the use of cameo appearances within his films. From Dusk Till Dawn is an example of this and is discussed in the book which will be even more helpful when it comes to doing more research on the film itself.

The book also triggered me to think about discussing the film True Romance (1993) as well. However due to Tarantino not being the director for the film it is very unlikely that I will choose it as one of my items. Although because of this I could instead use it as one of the deselected items of my catalogue, because it may not be directly useful to my SSRP.

Inglorious Bastards is another film that after researching Tarantino I believe would be useful to include in my SSRP, however I wanted to avoid using to many films as items as it may make me unable to use many other sources to support my point and be used as evidence. After watching the films more and researching into them more I shall come to a decision. I will also be updating my blog on my thoughts throughout my research.

I have found yet another book that I think I will be using as a source for my SSRP. The book is specifically on Pulp Fiction. The book was written by Dana Polan and published by BFI (British Film Institute) publishing in the year 2000.

There are also two magazines that I have found that I believe would be effective to use. The first one is the October 2003 issue of Sight and Sound which has a Kill Bill interview from Tarantino himself. I will be using this as a source in my SSRP.

The other magazine is an article on Inglorious Bastards from the September 2009 issue of Total Film. It includes a small double-page spread article on the film. I am considering using this as one of my source for my SSRP.

I recently found a Tarantino book on Amazon that I thought could be useful for my SSRP. The book is called ''Quentin Tarantino: The Man and His Movies'' by Jami Barnard (21 Aug 1995). I will put a photo of the book up onto my blog once I have read through it as it arrived at my house yesturday. Then I will catalogue it along with my other sources. Finding this book means that finally my SSRP catalogue is on its way to completion within the next few days.
